Client FTP Instructions
If you need to upload an image to us that is larger than 5MB you should upload it to us via our FTP site. Please follow our instructions below for uploading to our client FTP:
1. You will need to set up an FTP account with The Lab (This is done at no charge)
2. To set up an account you will first need to email us a username and password that you would like to use to access the FTP site. Please email your request to frontier@sonic.net.
3. We will establish your account and send you an email notification when it is ready to use.. This is generally done within 24 hours.
4. Once we have you registered you can then go to ftp://thelabsantarosa.com and login. (If this link does not work, first hit refresh or you may have to manually type ftp://thelabsantarosa.com in your address bar). You will then be prompted to enter your username and password. Something to keep in mind is that not all browsers are created equally. You need to make sure that you're using a browser that has the FTP capabilities installed. Another alternative is to use an FTP specific program like FTP Explorer (PC), WS_FTP (PC) or Fetch (Mac). You can search the web for other freeware FTP applications. A good place for more FTP programs is Download.com (FTP programs). (Please read the descriptions for this list of software before downloading to make sure it is what you want) 5. If you are having problems in Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS then click on the ADVANCED tab. Scroll down and find the box under Browser: "Enable folder view for FTP sites" and make sure this box is checked. Once this box is checked APPLY the change before exiting. Refresh the address and logon window should pop right up and can create folders. If you are using FTP software try using "ftp.thelabsantarosa.com" or simply "thelabsantarosa.com" to get to the correct directory. 6. Once you are into our client FTP site, you will initially find a folder named "images". This folder was created on your behalf to drop your images into.
7. You can create any additional folders you require on your own.
9. You can then just drag and drop or copy and paste your file(s) into your folder(s).
10. After you have uploaded your file(s) you will need to then send us an email with the filenames and instructions on what to do with your images. You may email these instructions to frontier@sonic.net.
